About The Journal Project

Right from the beginning, God has ministered to me through His Word. I never open it that I am not fed by some truth He brings alive to me. The story of my faith is the story of these encounters in His Word, and much of it is recorded in 3+ decades of journals. It’s occurred to me that while these encounters have been precious to me, they have been largely unshared. I am sharing them now, motivated by the idea that what God has shown me could, “speak to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation,” and in some small way help “build up the church.” (1 Cor. 14:3-4)

This is not a blog of current issues, but a journal project — unearthing and revisiting God’s Word to me in various stages of my Christian growth. (Some so old as to require edits, because wow, how God works change in the grand arc of a believer’s life!) May you, friend, be encouraged in Jesus today. May something I say prod you to open His Word and spend real time letting the Spirit illuminate what’s true. May that time spent become sweet fellowship with our Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
